Spring is in full swing at TCA, and that means baseball and softball season is here. With both teams stepping onto the field ready to compete, this year is already shaping up to be full of big plays, hard work, and exciting moments. From early-season wins to intense practices, the players have made this a season to remember.
The baseball team has already made a huge statement this season, finishing as district champions after a hard-fought 5–3 victory over Lubbock in the championship game. The team showed composure and determination, coming through in key moments to secure the win. Strong pitching by Colt Brinkman and Patrick Gullatt, timely hitting, and solid defense all played a role in the victory, highlighting the team’s all-around effort. “We all knew it was gonna happen. Before the season, we sat in Coach Flores’ room and stated that we’re gonna make the playoffs and we’re going to win district. It was destiny,” said Caleb Hart, reflecting on the game and what the win meant to the team. “It’s fun because I’ve gotten to play with new people. You get to meet a lot more guys and different personalities,” added Colt Brinkman when asked how it feels to play on a team of people he’s never played with before at a new school. With this district title under their belt, the team now turns its focus to the next challenge, as they are set to face McKinney Christian on April 30 in Benbrook to become area champions.
The softball team has continued to grow and compete throughout the season, showing resilience and strong team chemistry in every game. Despite facing challenges along the way, the team has remained focused and committed to improving each time they take the field. Consistent effort on both offense and defense has highlighted their determination and unity as a group. The team finished third place in district and is set to play in the Regional finals round on May at 5:30 against Lubbock Christian. “Coach Carlisle really has helped the culture, and having her for four years building that consistency has really cultivated an amazing culture and chemistry with people on the team,” said Christina Kuschel when asked about having Coach Carlisle throughout her entire high school career. This strong foundation has helped the team push through adversity and stay connected as the season progressed. “This season has had its challenges, but I think at the end of the day, it’s helped all of us be better athletes, organizing our time well, and being on top of our work,” said Charity Gables, reflecting the team’s mindset as they continue to compete and grow.
As both teams head into the postseason, the focus now shifts to making the most of the opportunities ahead. With a district championship secured for baseball and a playoff spot earned for softball, both programs have proven their dedication, resilience, and growth throughout the season. Backed by strong leadership and team chemistry, Trinity’s athletes are ready to compete at the next level and represent their school well. No matter the outcome, this season has already been one to remember, laying a strong foundation for continued success in the future.
