Trinity Christian Academy has recently finished up their iTerms. iTerms are yearly mission trips in which the high school students and staff at TCA travel across the country, or sometimes the world, helping those in need and reflecting God’s loving nature onto those who are being served. In 2026, the high school students at TCA were lucky enough to be able to sign up for two international iTerms, one to Belize and the other to Romania. The students and staff enjoyed their range of experiences in both countries; from the good to the bad, it was all worth it for the camaraderie with friends and the memories that will last a lifetime.
Belize –
The trip to Belize can be summed up in one phrase: “It was un-Belize-able!” Through Thirst Missions, the students and staff who went on the Belize iTerm helped out with the teaching and entertainment of Belizean kids at a church led by Pastor Carlos. The mostly senior group played soccer with the young ones, led them in worship, as well as teaching them about the gospel if given the opportunity. Some of the guys on the trip made sure to help the staff with the labor work by building an entire extra room for the church!
The students were not just doing all work and no play, but instead made sure to have a memorable time in Belize. They enjoyed the beach and went on a snorkeling trip, too. They met some interesting people, including a man named CP, who described himself as “the craziest man on the island.” The TCA Eagles made sure to spread the gospel with him, specifically Owen, Weston, and Coach Hahn. Weston recalls that there was “much spiritual warfare.” Weston theorized, “The people were so strong in their faith, the devil had to send spiritual warriors for the evil side to try and steal, kill, and destroy.” Even though the Belizeans have to deal with spiritual warfare, they still praise God and show His love through their kindness to the TCA Eagles.
The trip was not all enjoyable, as the students who went on it can recall, as many of the kids were struck with sun sickness and possible food poisoning as well. Some of the students got it worse than others, but they still made sure to put their best foot forward for the people they were serving.

Romania –
The Romania iTerm was a fantastic experience for all those involved, once they actually arrived in the country. When the students and staff arrived at the airport, they were stuck and eventually sent home due to flight delays. The TCA Eagles kept a cool head about the whole situation, with Kara Whiteaker recalling she thought, “The Lord wants us to go to Romania. He just doesn’t want us to go today.” Eventually, they were able to board the plane and fly to Romania, where they experienced the trip of a lifetime.
The Eagles volunteered mainly at Vox Domini Church in Western Romania, where they helped the church with its daily tasks. They watched the kids of the attendees in their after-school care program and mostly worked in the kids’ ministry at the church. The most memorable act at the church for them was when they had the opportunity to share their personal testimonies during a church service. The kids made sure to have fun while they were in Romania, too. They were able to see many different wonderful sights, including castles and fortresses. The students and staff seemed to have a blast in Romania.
The international iTerms of 2026 were overall successful, even with the flight delays and the high probability of catching sun sickness in Belize. The Eagles reflected God’s image through servitude, enjoyed fun activities, and had fun with friends, making memories that will last for the rest of their lives.
