Swim Team

The TCA swim team dove into their season with after-school practices and high expectations, determined to build on last year’s strong performances at state. Senior leaders like Addison Spillers and Reece Morgan are setting the tone in the pool, pushing teammates to be their best and fastest. As Addison said, “If we all show up, work hard, and stay locked in, there’s no reason we can’t go even farther this year.” Swimmers such as Tripp Morgan and Dane Southworth are already stepping into significant roles, demonstrating the confidence and work ethic required to compete at a high level. The team’s dedication shows long before practice starts, with many swimmers driving across the metroplex every day just to get to the pool. Even with the long drive, nobody complains because they know those extra miles help them improve. With long practices, growing chemistry, and a team full of athletes willing to put in the work, TCA swimming is ready to prove they can compete with anyone and earn another shot at regionals this season.

Power Lifting 

The TCA powerlifting team is entering the year with intensity, led by a strong group of seniors who are more focused and determined than ever after a successful season that saw multiple athletes advance to state. Senior standout Rhyder Dawson sets the standard in the weight room with consistency, discipline, and leadership, pushing everyone to improve every lift and every number. When asked about the team’s goal for this season, Rhyder said, “To set PRs and break school records.” Alongside him, teammates like Tegan Pace are leading by example, showing younger lifters how dedication and hard work pay off. They start their day with powerlifting practice in the morning, setting the tone for how they want to compete. Their first powerlifting meet takes place after Thanksgiving. Expect big things and big lifts from this group of athletes. Their coach emphasizes not just strength but also technique and sportsmanship, ensuring the team grows both on and off the platform.
