Water Guns and Senior Year: TCA Senior Assassin 2026

Tripp Morgan, Assistant Editor-in-Chief

Every year in the fourth quarter of school all across the United States, high school seniors partake in the strange tradition of hunting each other down for a cash prize. This tradition is referred to as “Senior Assassin.” Trinity Christian Academy is partaking in Senior Assassin during 2026, with a majority of the seniors joining in on the fun.

When it comes to hunting down your classmates for a big load of cash, there are a couple of rules involved. First off, the “kills” must be done with water guns, in which the assassin visibly shoots and hits their target. Secondly, the kill must be recorded and vouched for by the previously mentioned target. Thirdly, the assassination has to take place in an allowed area (not in school or at a church service). Lastly, everybody must be having fun, because the whole event is for the seniors, who are heavily affected by senioritis at this point, to destress, not to add another burden to their already heavy-laden shoulders.

If a senior is trying to stay in the game as long as possible, they have to make sure to be careful. They must always be wearing either a pair of swim goggles around their head or neck, or floaties on their arms or legs. Even if they think they’re safe, they need to stay on guard for any and every senior who could potentially be their assassin. No fellow senior can be truly trusted in the game of Senior Assassin. Some use their cunning and wit to get their targets; others are just in the right place at the right time. As a remaining participant, Emily Ickert, shared, “It feels great because it is exciting to be one of the few people left. I honestly don’t know who is going to win. I guess I will say myself because I am cautious about wearing my goggles, and I have had the most kills.”

Senior Assassin is already well underway, with a majority of players already out of the game. The strongest few remain, along with a few lucky ones as well. Some players, like Jonas Odell, have already been eliminated and have a different perspective on the game. After being taken out, he said, “I got out by Jonathan Overholt, it honestly felt good to be able to not feel constanlty stressed about the game. I think Ethan Withrow will win, because he stays away from public things as much as possible for the game.” The remaining players are going to have to play their best game and stay on red alert in order to win the 2026 TCA Senior Assassin.
