The success of TCA’s volleyball program extends beyond the players and coaches; the student section has emerged as a crucial part of the team’s momentum and identity. Last season, the student section became known as a key part of the team’s success. This season, the girls are coming off a playoff berth with high expectations that will need to be met by the student section.
TCA’s unique identity sets its student section apart from previous years. Last year, the group turned every home match into a full-scale atmosphere, from coordinated chants to theme nights that gave the Eagles the momentum they needed. What started as a handful of loud friends turned into a defining piece of TCA volleyball culture.
The players feel the impact more than anyone. Ask any girl on varsity, and she’ll tell you the same thing: the student section changes the gym. Coaches see it too. They talk about momentum swings, about how the girls settle in faster at home, and about how confidence grows when the bleachers erupt after a big block. For TCA volleyball, the student section isn’t just support; it’s part of the competitive edge. When prompted, Senora Sigala said, “I definitely see a difference. I think it hypes them up. It definitely livens up, you know, the whole gym. So it’s a breath of fresh air.” This shows just how deeply the student section has become part of the team’s identity, shaping the atmosphere every time the girls step on the court.
With high expectations this season, the connection between the team and the student section continues to build. With this year’s roster returning talent and a team wanting to push even further in the postseason, the gym’s atmosphere becomes a very crucial part of the season. This year’s team knows what it’s like to play with a crowd behind them, and they know how much harder it is to generate the same kind of spark without it. This season’s goals demand efficiency, consistency, confidence, and momentum, and this student section has become a place where all of these begin.
As the season unfolds, the challenge belongs to more than just the girls on the court. The student section has become part of what makes TCA volleyball feel different: louder, tougher, and united. Every match is another chance to build on that identity, to turn the gym into a place opponents dread and the team depends on.
