Yearbook

For students, receiving a yearbook is one of the most exciting parts of the school year. It captures all the moments we don’t want to forget. From big events like pep rallies and sports games to the random memories we make with friends. The yearbook team works hard to put everything together. Behind the scenes, they spent hours taking photos, designing pages, and making sure every detail fits. Their work helps tell the story of our school year, bringing all our favorite memories together in one place.

TCA’s first yearbook dates back to the 90s. Over the years, the program has continued to grow. This year’s 2025-2026 staff boasts of 13 staff members, 7 of which are returning. This is a real testament to how much the students enjoy bringing Mrs. Peterson’s class and the TCA yearbook to life. When interviewing this year’s staff members, Avery Huffman quoted, “I love seeing all of the spreads put together and pretty.” The staff is led by Mrs. Peterson, who has been TCA’s yearbook advisor for 3 years now. When asked about what brings her the most joy teaching this elective class, Peterson sincerely quoted “My students.”

TCA’s yearbooks have a rich history of meaningful themes. This year’s theme is Distinctly Different, which, according to Gina Paul, co-editior and chief of the yearbook staff, refers to how TCA does things differently because we’re a Christian school.  When asked about the process of deciding a yearbook theme, Mrs. Peterson shared, “they each had a theme proposal, we decided on a theme and then a group of students and I went to camp over the summer to really lock everything in.”

Within the yearbook, there are lots of fun and exciting spreads. A spread is a two-page layout that focuses on one topic, event, or group. This year’s spreads cover a variety of unique and interesting topics, from A Day in the Life of a TCA Student to fashion trends and even a throwback to the teachers. These spreads are definitely something to look forward to. The Yearbook staff works hard to come up with ideas and create these engaging pages because, as Mary Graves said, they enjoy working creatively and also love “sitting on Mrs. Peterson’s couch.”

In the end, this year’s yearbook shows just how much effort the staff put in. You can tell they really cared about making something students would be excited to open. The theme Distinctly Different connects to who we are as a school, and every page reflects that. When we finally get our books, it’ll be exciting to see all the memories from this 2025-2026 school year in one place.
